The students that participate in the IED Barcelona summer program have the option of reserving accommodations when applying.
The full package option (course + accommodations) provides the option of reserving an
individual room with shared kitchen at one of the best student residences in the city.
It is important to note that the room reservation is from the
1st to the 31st of July. The reservation can only be made for the entire month, not by weeks or days.
Important!If the student wishes to take advantage of the full package option, they must pay the entirety of the accommodations when applying.
In the case that the student arrives in Barcelona before the 1st of July they are responsible for their accommodations for that period.
The students must provide a
deposit with the residence before entering.
The spaces are limited to 50 rooms. Beyond this number, the student’s must personally find accommodations.
IED does not offer an airport pick-up service.
The Residence Onix Calle Sardenya 101-137 08013 Barcelona
Residencia ONIX is located in the popular l’Eixample neighbourhood of Barcelona, in front of the Barcelona Nord bus station and next to the Renfe (train) and metro station Arco de Triunfo. Right in the city center and with convenient access to any area of the city due to its excellent location.
The school can be reached by Metro or bicycle from the residence (www.bicing.com).
From Onix It takes approx. 20 minutes to arrive to the school by Metro (subway):
1.starting at the “Arc de Trionf” station on line num. 1 (red, direction Hospital de Bell¬vitge) until Plaza Catalunya
2.In the Catalunya station you have to change lines to number 3 (green, direction Canyelles) to arrive at Fontana.
3.From Metro Fontana, follow the street Carrer d’Asturies until you reach Torrent de l’Olla. You then turn left on Torrent de l’Olla, going up hill until you reach nº 208.
Characteristics:
Room The accommodation that we offer consists of a single room with shared kitchen.
The rooms are made up of a an individual bed, 190x90cm., closet, desk and reading lamp, chairs, shelf and corkboard for photos. Mattress with cover, linens, blanket, comforter and pillow are provided by the residence; as well as bath towels.
All of the bedrooms include individual bathroom, equipped kitchen, telephone, Internet connection, air conditioning, heating as well as a large window.
Residence Installations
All purpose study space, computer lab, reading hall, living room (common space), gym, TV and DVD room as well as a terrace and pool.
Residence Services
• Weekly cleaning service of the room, kitchen (excluding dishes) and bathroom; including change of bed sheets and towels (those provided by the residence).
• Air conditioner and Heating.
• Concierge open 24 hours a day.
• Internet connection in the rooms.
• External phone calls received directly to the rooms.
• Personal wake-up service.
Services available at an extra cost of the resident
• Pre-paid phone service for out-going calls.
• Laundromat with washing and drying machines.
• Vending machines, with coffee, refreshments and snacks.
Deposit Each student must provide a
300€ cash deposit upon checking into the residence. You must also leave your credit card number guaranteeing any damages that may surpass this amount. This amount will be returned after checkout, following a review of the rooms’ condition.
If the student cannot provide a credit card number an 800€ cash deposit is required.
The student is responsible for any damage cause during their stay, to the common rooms, by third parties and that which is not covered by the original deposit.
