General information about the Masters Department cooperation grants
Each year the IED Masters Department offers a cooperation grant for their masters and specialization courses, to occupy the position of course assistant. The winner will receive a grant covering the full annual course fee, so the student need only pay the enrolment fee.
The assistant will be required to work the equivalent of two hours a day for the school, and have time available for events, seminars, meetings, extra classes, etc.
The cooperation relationship will be governed by a specific cooperation agreement between IED Barcelona and the assistant, which will be signed at the time of formalization and, in any case, before starting the course.
Functions
The duties of the assistant will be to provide support and administration, working directly with organizational coordinators and their course coordinator. Specifically, the tutor / assistant will carry out the following tasks:
Manage schedules and confirm classes.
Maintain contact with the coordinator / school.
Provide support in controlling attendance.
Help manage classes and activities outside the school.
Manage materials.
Compile documentation.
Daily follow-up of the course with the coordinator.
Course representative / spokesperson, for both students and the school.
Other tasks to be determined according to the specific characteristics of each course.
Requirements
We are looking for dynamic and proactive people, who have proven work experience of at least a year, and who are residents of Barcelona or who have lived there over the past few years. They must be capable of working in a team and be able to manage groups. An intermediate level of IT knowledge is required, as well as good communication skills.
We are looking for people who are willing to dedicate themselves solely to the course throughout its duration as, on occasion; their assistance will be required outside course times.
The grant is equivalent to the full annual fee for each course. The tutor / assistant must only pay the course enrolment fee.
If, at any time, the assistant fails to fulfill their duties and abandons the course, they will be required to pay the full cost of the course. In addition, if the school management decides to relieve the grant holder from office, for not carrying out their functions properly, the tutor shall pay the remainder of the course, as the school will no longer provide financial support for the corresponding part.
Applications
The deadline for the 2010-2011 academic year has passed. We will shortly inform you, via the website, about the opening of the new application period for the academic year 2011-2012.
Once the call is open, those interested must first complete the pre-enrolment form for the course of their choice, on our website: www.iedbarcelona.es. They have been accepted on the course (an essential requirement), they can submit their candidacy for the position of tutor.
Decision of the Call
Once the deadline has passed, those selected who meet the above conditions will be asked to attend a series of interviews. At the end of the selection process all students will receive notification of the final outcome of the tests.
NOTES:
- No applications will be accepted from any students who have not previously been accepted onto the course.
- Assistants / Tutors will also be students on the course, and therefore, regardless of the work they carry out for the Advanced Training Department, they must meet the same conditions as the rest of their fellow students, will be evaluated in the same way, and their relationship with the school and the course as such, will be that of a student.
